Dress: BCBG
Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs
Shoes: Sam Edelman
Necklace: Kendra Scott
Sunglasses: Ted Baker

I recently got the opportunity to go down to Miami to visit family, and I always have such a good time whenever I visit. This particular day I got to walk up and down South Beach and put my feet in the beautiful blue-green water. It’s so different than what we see up in North Florida. After strolling for a while with my husband, we found our way to a fresh coconut water stand. This was my first time ever having coconut water fresh out of a coconut, and I don’t regret it! So fresh, so clean! After we got hydrated we stumbled upon this fabulous restaurant called The Local House and had the pleasure of partaking in some delicious eats and drinks. I think this dress really did a great job wearing throughout the day. The sun was out, but there was quite a breeze throughout the day, so the 3/4 length sleeves really came in handy. Isn’t it great when you have a day to wear 3/4 length anything? I have a few in my closet, and always think….what part of the year does anyone ever wear these? Well this is it! What days or seasons do you get the most out of your 3/4 length clothes?

Living in Color

Dress: Maeve (Anthropologie)
Shoes: Chie Mihara
Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs
Earrings & Necklace: Kendra Scott
Sunglasses: Ted Baker

I recently had the opportunity to visit Vizcaya in Miami and let me just say the grounds were GORGEOUS. I brought along this lovely summer dress I picked up from Anthropologie. I bought this dress with the first paycheck from my first job I ever had. I remember my dad telling me I should budget my money, but to use my first paycheck on whatever I wanted…so of course…clothes. I’m still in love with this dress and thought it would be fun to bring along on my weekend getaway. My favorite thing about this dress is that it does all the talking. I decided to amp it up with some jewelry and fun wedges, but it could just as easily bring a statement with sandals or simple flats. Maybe one day it will part from my closet and I, but for now I’m living in color.

Top: Madewell
Pants: Lucky Brand
Shoes: Pour La Victoire
Bag: Coach (vintage)
Earrings: Target
Bracelet: Leighelena
Ring: Marc by Marc Jacobs

It is finally getting closer to fall, but I am not ready for the summer days to end yet. When I saw this top in Madewell, I knew we were meant to be together. The spanish influenced stripes and the laidback V on this top had me at hello. I paired this top with some distressed jeans and strappy sandals to embrace the feel of effortless comfort. Tribal earrings and a lizard cuff signal I’m ready to explore. I finished the look with a vintage classic Willis bag to polish it off.

Back in Florida and it feels so good! The weather this past weekend has been phenomenal (it finally didn’t get up in the 100’s)! I recently got to celebrate my three year wedding anniversary and Aaron and I decided to go out to Nordstrom’s restaurant Bazille. There were appetizers, drinks, and food….so much food. Everything was amazing: atmosphere, service, food…and I’m already ready to go back. So for our lunch date I really wanted to celebrate summer, and what better way than sunbeam yellow jeans? Current/Elliot makes some of my favorite ankle jeans to show off all of my favorite spring and summer shoes. Definitely something I look for when I add to my collection.

Going to Paris in My Mind

Dress: Line + Dot
Shoes: Gianni Bini
Scarf: Vintage
Earrings: Wolfgang

There is some kind of secret power that comes from wearing an asymmetrical dress, especially this one from Line + Dot. Slipping into this dress gave me the feeling I was suddenly a “rule breaker”, and in the best way possible. In this dress, I was Lucy Lui, and all I needed was my samurai sword. Wanting to keep the balance of hard and soft (and what’s softer than kitties?) I added colorful illustrations of where I wanted to be.  I embodied Audrey Hepburn and went to Paris in my mind. After all, “Paris is always a good idea.”
