Back in Florida and it feels so good! The weather this past weekend has been phenomenal (it finally didn’t get up in the 100’s)! I recently got to celebrate my three year wedding anniversary and Aaron and I decided to go out to Nordstrom’s restaurant Bazille. There were appetizers, drinks, and food….so much food. Everything was amazing: atmosphere, service, food…and I’m already ready to go back. So for our lunch date I really wanted to celebrate summer, and what better way than sunbeam yellow jeans? Current/Elliot makes some of my favorite ankle jeans to show off all of my favorite spring and summer shoes. Definitely something I look for when I add to my collection.

Going to Paris in My Mind

Dress: Line + Dot

Scarf: Vintage

There is some kind of secret power that comes from wearing an asymmetrical dress, especially this one from Line + Dot. Slipping into this dress gave me the feeling I was suddenly a “rule breaker”, and in the best way possible. In this dress, I was Lucy Lui, and all I needed was my samurai sword. Wanting to keep the balance of hard and soft (and what’s softer than kitties?) I added colorful illustrations of where I wanted to be.  I embodied Audrey Hepburn and went to Paris in my mind. After all, “Paris is always a good idea.”

Berries, the first sign of spring…or at least in Texas anyway. I have been living in this tunic as of late, mainly because it goes with everything and it’s super comfortable. Also comfortable, are these awesome mule kicks. Pretty sure I had a few different styles of these when I was in 7th grade. It’s the transition heel in a way, and then they were gone. I’m so happy to see these make their way back into fashion right now, and so are my feet! Any favorite trends you’re seeing that you can’t get enough of?

Frankly, Scarlett…

Is there anything more exciting than finding the time to explore your own city? Austin is such a fun, eclectic place with so many things to do. I got to go on a day date with my husband, Aaron, to the Harry Ransom Center for the Gone With the Wind exhibition going on. Talk about inspiring! The costumes and drawings were so well done and ornate. On the way there, we explored some of UT’s beautiful campus.  This is the perfect date outfit. I absolutely love the color green, and these army green pants are so versatile. Perfect for the days when I’m feeling tough and want to pair them with some combat boots and a studded jacket. Since I was feeling more flirty on this particular day, I thought I would balance out the masculinity of the army green and the boyfriend sweater by adding a striped headband, a fun bag, playful nails, and some magenta lipstick. Accessories and styling can really take any outfit to the next level!

It’s finally here! Fall is in the air (don’t let the green grass fool you). Needless to say, I could not wait to bust out this absolutely fun leather jacket. It pairs so well with this multi-functional button down from JOE’S Jeans. This top is so great because it actually is a sleeveless cutoff! Works perfectly for summer, and transitional outfits. Still want to wear it for cooler weather? Throw a cashmere sweater over it and let that striped collar be a pop of fun.

Is there anything more versatile than black? Yes, yes there is…the black tunic. It is the ultimate go to for looking put together with very little effort. I can make it flirty with heels, pair it with jeans and flats, or with some fun printed leggings and thigh high booties. The options are endless! For this look, I decided to really let this Marc by Marc bag shine. It is complemented by this lovely tunic with slight bell sleeves and beautiful crocheted details. I love the added look of a classic patent leather brogue to break apart the flatness of the black. What do you think, what’s your favorite way to wear tunics?
